Hyperbaric oxygen therapy was first used in the United States in the early 20th century.In the 1940s, the U.S. Navy tried the therapy again to treat deep-sea divers with decompression sickness. By the 1960s, the therapy was also used to treat carbon monoxide poisoning.

The working principle of a home hyperbaric oxygen chamber:

 It is generally composed of a cabin and an aerodynamic device. The aerodynamic device can inject filtered clean air into the closed cabin, and then achieve pressure balance in the cabin through the automatic constant pressure valve of the cabin to maintain a certain high-pressure oxygen gas environment. This provides higher oxygen delivery efficiency and more oxygen supply. The pressure in the cabin is set at about 1.2-1.5 atmospheres (slightly higher than 1 atmosphere of normal pressure, refer to the product model parameters for details). When using it, people rest in the cabin. It is advisable to use it for 60 minutes each time, and it is recommended not to exceed 2 hours.

How does hyperbaric oxygen therapy work?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy helps wounds heal by delivering oxygen-rich plasma to oxygen-deprived tissues. Wound injuries damage the body's blood vessels, which release fluid that leaks into tissues and causes swelling. This swelling starves damaged cells of oxygen, and tissue begins to die. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy reduces swelling while pumping oxygen into the tissues. The higher pressure inside the chamber increases the amount of oxygen in the blood.
